The NICHE Drive Sprocket and Chain Set MK1004779 includes an X-Ring Drive Chain, as well as a NICHE Front and Rear Sprocket Set with Drive Chain Kit. It is compatible with the following Yamaha models: Raptor 700, YFZ450R. It replaces the following OEM part numbers: 519-KCS1251K-K001.

The Front Sprocket has 14 teeth, while the Rear Sprocket has 38 teeth. The Chain Model is 520V-X with 98 links and a 520 (15.875mm) pitch.

Sprockets are rotating parts with teeth that are used in conjunction with a chain to transmit power. In order for sprockets and chain to be compatible, they must both have the same thickness and pitch. Additionally, for the sprockets and chain to work effectively, all of the sprockets should be on parallel shafts with their corresponding teeth on the same plane.

Key sprocket features include the Number of Teeth, which is the total number of teeth around the whole circumference, and the Pitch Diameter (PD), which is an imaginary circle traced by the center of the chain pins when the sprocket rotates while meshed with a chain. The Pitch is the amount of pitch diameter in inches per tooth, where gears with a larger pitch will have bigger teeth.

When replacing sprockets, check how well the chain meshes with the sprocket teeth. In a healthy combo, the individual chain rollers should align perfectly with the spaces between the sprocket teeth and fit down into those U-shaped grooves evenly. Look closely at the sprocket teeth to see if they have become sharp at the tips and/or slightly curled, as a sign of wear.

There are different types of drive chains, each with their own pros and cons. Lightweight, racing-oriented chains have the best power transmission but wear quicker and have no internal lubrication. Sealed chains have longer life and better sealing but are heavier with more friction. X-Ring chains offer low friction, long lifespan, and increased efficiency.

Always ensure your sprockets are in good condition, properly aligned, and use a lubricant specifically designed for your chain. Replace the chain immediately if it contacts battery acid, and clean and lubricate if it contacts salt water or rock salt. Do not use harsh solvents, and lubricate every 300-350 miles.
